Rooftop Concert Series Returns, Reviving a Beloved Summer Tradition in Downtown Provo
Season kicks off May 15, 2026 at Nu Skin Plaza with bands: I Don’t Know How But They Found Me, Sego, and Pinguin Mofex
PROVO, Utah — After a six-year hiatus, the Rooftop Concert Series—the free outdoor music tradition that drew thousands to downtown Provo for a decade—is officially back. Co-founders Sarah Wiley, Mindy Gledhill, and Justin Hackworth, together with Provo Mayor Marsha Judkins, announced today that the highly anticipated reboot will launch on Friday, May 15, 2026, at Nu Skin Plaza (100 West Center Street) in the heart of downtown Provo. The season opener will feature three standout Rooftop veterans: I Don’t Know How But They Found Me, Sego, and Pinguin Mofex.
“We’re really excited to bring the Rooftop Concert Series back at a moment when it feels especially meaningful,” said Sarah Wiley, co-founder of the series. “There’s a shared history here—people who grew up coming to these shows, discovering local music, and spending magical summer nights together. We’re incredibly grateful to the artists, the city, and the community who made this series so special, and we’re excited to build on that again this summer.”
The return of the series is made possible through the support of the McGowan Family. Their investment in the arts and local community has helped bring the Rooftop Concert Series back to life for a new generation of concertgoers.
"Our family loves Provo, and we love what music does for our family and community. The Rooftop Concert Series is one of those rare things that pulls a whole city together: neighbors, families, and friends, all downtown, all around live music. Our family has always believed the most meaningful moments happen when you create space for people to be together. We're excited to help bring this tradition back to the city we love,” said Jason and Whitney McGowan.
Provo City Mayor Marsha Judkins expressed gratitude to the McGowan Family, Nu Skin, and Provo City staff across numerous departments for making the new concert season possible. “For years, these concerts transformed downtown into a gathering place where neighbors met, families lingered, and thousands came together to enjoy live music. That same energy is back,” Judkins said. “We are thrilled to share this experience again with those who remember it and to create new memories for those experiencing it for the first time.”
Concertgoers are encouraged to arrive early to enjoy the many restaurants and shops downtown has to offer.
Music starts at 7:00 p.m. Admission is free, and all are welcome.
The May 15 kickoff marks the first of the monthly concerts planned for the 2026 season. Future concerts will be held on June 26, July 24, August 21, and September 18. Additional information including lineups and other special events will be announced on rooftopconcertseries.com and on Instagram @rooftopconcerts.
