The first year we had a Rooftop Concert, the Lower Lights played and it really set the tone for what we wanted to see at these shows, which is, great music played at the highest level. We had them back the following year. And the year after that. But it's been a couple years since the Lower Lights have played and it's high time we have them back. Our final show of the 2016 season, on September 2, will be The Lower Lights. Opening act, The Salt Lake City Mass Choir. Come hear two very different version of gospel music. This will be an unforgettable night.

The Man Who Sold The World. Ziggy Stardust. Aladdin Sane. The Thin White Duke. Few artists manage to leave even one impression on the world, but when David Bowie died earlier this year, he left us with a handful (and that’s not even mentioning his film roles as Warhol, Tesla, and The Goblin King). But even with all the different names, the one that fits the most is this: legend. And, more importantly, he left us with legendary, influential songs. Yeah, we can’t wait either. Countdown, engines on.

Provo, UT – Provo’s award winning Rooftop Concert Series will be closing out a record-breaking year in appropriate fashion by featuring multi Grammy-nominated dance artist/producer, Kaskade, on Friday, September 4 at 7:30 p.m. Joining Kaskade as openers are local favorites The Brock and Two Nations.
Most recently, Kaskade announced the release of his highly-anticipated album via Warner Bros. Records/Arkade entitled Automatic, which will be available digitally on September 25. In addition to the albums release, Kaskade will bring Automatic to life as he embarks on his North American tour under the same name beginning October 1.
His latest hit single “Disarm You” has garnered more than 2 million streams within just three weeks of its release and made its debut on the top 20 Billboard Dance Chart. The superstar recently released the music video for the smash hit via his Facebook page. Created by former Australian skateboarder, Joe Pease, intricate illustrations come to life, following one woman’s journey.
Kaskade attended nearby Brigham Young University and Utah Valley University in the early 90’s and, like an increasing number of internationally known musical acts, has maintained a strong connection to Provo. Throughout his career, Kaskade has continued to work closely with several members of the local music community in writing and recording his material drawing on the great musicians and engineers active in the scene. Kaskade’s music has become a regular fixture on Billboard’s Top 10 charts for more than a decade, several times reaching #1. This past spring Kaskade returned to the iconic two-weekend Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival for the fourth time, where he was the only electronic artist to take the main stage. In a historic achievement, Kaskade drew the two largest crowds the festival had ever seen in its storied sixteen-year existence.
The Rooftop Concert Series kicked off their 6th season earlier this summer by announcing a move from their traditional location (atop a downtown Provo parking structure) to a slightly more conspicuous spot: an entire block of Provo Center Street. The move was made after steadily growing crowds outgrew the original location.
The success of the series is built largely on an ability to consistently present all-star lineups combining both local and nationally recognized musicians representing a wide variety of genres. Far from being an exception, this year’s finale show is the epitome of what has made The Rooftop Concert Series so popular.
Kaskade’s performance marks the first electronic dance act to headline a Rooftop Concert. Concertgoers can anticipate a dynamic, high-energy show marked by the seamless transition from track to track enhanced by lasers, lights and atmospheric effects. Series founders expect this to be an introduction to this burgeoning new genre for many attendees and are excited to bring a new sound to this year’s Rooftop Concert Series.
The Rooftop Concert Series was founded in 2010 as a part of the Center Focus initiative to revitalize downtown Provo. This year’s concert series is made possible by generous donations from Google Fiber, Pepsi, Nuskin and Provo City.
