Downtown business interested in getting involved? Read on.

We are excited to be continuing the Downtown Provo Rooftop Concert Series again this year. It was started last year with two concerts (in September and October 2010) that were both very successful, and will continue this year with 6 concerts throughout the Spring and Summer 2011. The series is organized by Provo City’s Center Focus Cultural Identity Committee, and sponsored by CJaneRun.com – the well-known blog written by Provo resident and champion Courtney Clark Kendrick.

The concerts will be held on the roof of the Provo Town Square parking terrace, and will feature high quality well-known performers, including artists such as Mindy Gledhill, Fictionist, The Lower Lights, and Meaghan Smith. The concerts will run on the First Fridays of each month from May through October, coordinated with the Gallery Stroll to maximize attraction and traffic on those nights.

The concerts will be free and open to the public. Music will begin at 8pm and go until about 10:30pm. The target audience is both college students and resident professionals. The goal of the series is to help promote the Arts in Downtown Provo, as well as to help draw attention to all Downtown Provo has to offer and attract more people (i.e. potential customers) to the area on a regular basis.

We invite your business to consider being involved in the series in any of the following ways:

• Promotion: Help promote the events by hanging posters in your windows and/or having a stack of postcards for people to take.

• Sponsorship: The series is completely funded by sponsorships, so any financial contributions or contributions-in-kind are much appreciated and will be acknowledged in our promotion materials.

• Raffle/Giveaways: On the night of the concert, we would like to hold a raffle or giveaway from the stage. Attendees will enter the raffle by showing a recent receipt from a downtown business. Prizes from the raffle would be CDs from the concert performers, or gift certificates from downtown businesses. If you would like to donate a prize for the raffle, please let us know.

• Bounce-back coupon: At the concert, we will hand out “Rooftop Concert Series Downtown Bounce-back” coupons to people in attendance. This will be a one-time-use coupon for 20% off any goods or services at participating downtown businesses. If you are interested in being included in this special offer, please let us know.

• After-concert hours: We will promote from the stage which businesses are keeping late hours (open until 11:30 or midnight) and encourage people to walk over after the show to get dinner/snacks/drinks/dessert or to shop.

• Information booth: We will have a space set up on the premises where you could put a stack of menus or coupons or flyers for your downtown business. If you would like to have any materials there, please let us know.

• Anything else?? If you have any other ideas of how you’d like to be involved, please let us know. We are very open to anything from vendor booths on the premises to banners hung along the access path.
